Pro bono work
Our business planning makes provision for pro bono work in deserving cases, typically projects involving BBBEE and cases where the interests of the turnaround industry will be promoted:
- Hosting Turnaround industry in South Africa, a turnaround industry web site.
- Participating in turnaround industry conferences (see turnaround events).
- Publishing papers (see turnaround opinions).
- Guest lecturing at business schools.
- Helping MBA students with turnaround-related studies.
- In 2004 we played a leading role in setting up, and then chairing the Task Group for Organising the Turnaround and Business Rescue Industries.
- We are actively involved in the interim executive of ABASA - Association of Business Administrators of South Africa.
- We initiated the Turnaround Management Association - Southern Africa. We have three founding members and 7 directors on its board.
- We sponsor certain activities of TMA-SA.
- Jan van der Walt is actively involved in engaging with the Department of Trade and Industry in commenting on and participating in business rescue workshops. He also sits on the Business Rescue Sub-committee of the King III Commission in Corporate Governance.
